报告摘要:In software testing, we may encounter the problem that the correctness of the computed output could not be verified. This is known as the oracle problem in software testing, which frequently occurs. We have proposed the technique of Metamorphic Testing to alleviate the oracle problem. Though the concept of metamorphic testing is very simple, its scope of applicability is quite extensive and not restricted to software testing. This seminar will cover several aspects of metamorphic testing, including the formation of a theory for metamorphic testing, as well as the integration of metamorphic testing with other software analysis, testing or debugging techniques. The emphasis of this seminar will be on the role and impact of metamorphic testing in software testing, program proving and fault localisation. Potential research projects on metamorphic testing will also be discussed.
